family fun fest

It looks like it’s going to be a bit cold and snowy, so take your fun indoors, or get geared up and enjoy the fresh air.

Art Gallery of Ontario

Make a floor burger! Not nearly as messy as it sounds, the AGO celebrates all things pop art this Family Day with stuffed pizza slice crafts, family yoga sessions, super hero self portraits, all-day donut dance, and more. You can also get $10 off a family pass. Be sure to check out the kid-friendly menu at FRANK, and decorate your own cookie.

317 Dundas Street West, Toronto

Family Fun Fest

Indoor fun chaos at its finest. Bouncy castles, rides, obstacle courses, arcade games, and carnival games are all collected inside at Downsview Park. Let them burn off all that energy, and then get wound up again with some funnel cakes and beaver tails. It’s on all weekend too, including Family Day.

Studio 3, Downsview Park, 40 Carl Hall Rd, Toronto

Royal Ontario Museum

The ROM is combining Family Day fun with Lunar New Year celebrations. There will be lion dances, performances from Yip’s Chamber Orchestra, Opera Atelier, Shaolin Kung Fu, the Toronto Chinese Orchestra, and Chinese dance ensembles. Crafts, brush art and calligraphy demonstrations, and family games fill out the weekend’s activities. Drop by Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

100 Queen’s Park, Toronto

KidsFest TO

If you’re out west, check out the KidsFest TO with 30 rides, loads of inflatable slides and castles to climb on, and live entertainment. All indoors, the kids can shuck their parkas and boots for some mitten-free playtime. This one is also on all weekend, including Family Day.

International Centre Hall 6, 6900 Airport Rd, Mississauga

Bata Shoe Museum

There’s lots going on at the BSM, including winter-themed crafts, silly snowflake-wearing shoe magnets, try-on shoes, i-spy in the galleries, and two showings of March of the Penguins at 12pm and 2pm.

327 Bloor St W, Toronto
