While the forecast might not be exactly spring-like, the calendar tells us that May is upon us and that means the start of outdoor festivals and events in the city. So, if you are wondering what to do in Toronto this weekend, we have put together a list of 5 fun things to do with the family. So, get outside and play.

ROM Revealed Weekend: The ROM is opening the museum doors for a FREE weekend of exploration May 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Once inside the ROM will be granting unprecedented access to the collections. Visitors can have an enhanced visit with the “Behind the Scenes” tours…tickets for these tours are limited, be sure to arrive early as there will be lots of little explorers wanting to participate. The “Behind the Scenes” program will take visitors through the museum with the guidance of ROM scientists, researchers and technicians. Pretty cool. free comic book dayFree Comic Book Day : How much fun is this? Saturday, May 3rd is Free Comic Book Day. All day long participating comic book stores around the city, and around North America, will be inviting readers in to pick up a free comic book. Comic books are old school favourites and are engaging for kids of all ages. Participating stores in Toronto include; Silver Snail Comics, Dr. Comics and The Beguiling Books and Art. Forsythia Festival: On Sunday, May 4th the Cabbagetown Resident’s Association will be hosting the 43rd annual Forsythia Festival. The Forsythia Festival is a true celebration of spring in the city. Cabbagetown families, proudly wearing forsythia yellow, parade on bike, in wagons and on foot from Riverdale Farm to Wellesley Park. jane's walkJane’s Walk: May 2nd, 3rd and 4th Toronto will be filled with people walking, discussing and learning about our beautiful city. Jane’s Walk is an annual event that takes place in neighbourhoods all around the city. There is no need to register ahead of time, or purchase any tickets…all you have to do is show up and join in. The walks will cover a variety of topics from heritage, art, architecture to food and community. Check out the full selection of walks and pick the one that is perfect for your family.

Beaches Studio Tour: Do you have a budding artist in your family? The Beaches Studio Tour is the perfect opportunity to introduce children to artists in their studio spaces and homes. The tour takes place May 2nd, 3rd and 4th and is the 20th edition of the event. Admission is free, but there is plenty of artwork available for purchase. The studio tour is a unique way to explore the Beach community.
