It’s Family Day on February 19, 2018, and that means a long weekend with kids chomping at the bit for some action. Check out these active (and artsy) events for you and the kids around the GTA.

Free skating and more at Harbourfront Centre

T’is the season for outdoor skating! Head down to Harbourfront Centre for FREE skating lessons on the Natrel Rink, rinkside dance breaks, emerging DJs, icy activities, a fireside outdoor lounge and more.

Art Gallery of Ontario

Don your favourite colour and join the AGO to celebrate colour with music, movement and activities for the whole family. Join the all ages dance party, make paintings without paint, get popping in the famous bubble wrap room, play with light and shadow, make an emoji face mask, chill out with kid friendly films and cap the day with a memory in front of the colourful selfie wall. Runs from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm on Feb 19.

Family Fun Fest

Indoor fun chaos at its finest. Bouncy castles, rides, obstacle courses, arcade games, and carnival games are all collected inside at Downsview Park. Let them burn off all that energy, and then get wound up again with some funnel cakes and beaver tails. It’s on all weekend too, including Family Day.

If you’re out west, check out the KidsFest TO with 30 rides, inflatable slides and castles to climb on, and live entertainment. All indoors, the kids can shuck their parkas and boots for some mitten-free playtime. This one is also on all weekend, including Family Day.

Chill with the BSD on Family Day Monday and experience a magical winter wonderland! Kids can enjoy winter-themed arts and crafts, play a game of I Spy in the galleries and try on some funky footwear.  Perfect for kids ages 3-12. Monday, February 19, Drop-in until 4pm
