What to do in Toronto : BuskerFest Toronto
BuskerFest will be taking over the Yonge Street – stretching along Yonge from Queen Street all the way to College Street. Admission to the event is by donation to Epilepsy Toronto. Don’t forget to bring along cash to “throw in the hat” for the buskers who amaze and astonish you.
The Scotiabank BuskerPlay Kids Zone will be hopping with plenty of activities for kids to enjoy. Located in Trinity Square Park, the Kids Zone caters specially to kids. Families will find face painting, balloon-twisting, free workshops and a dress-up area. The Scotiabank BuskerPlay Stage will have daily shows to entertain families. Stop by the ScotiaBank tent where families will find more clowns, face painting and music. The best part is that activities are free of charge.
The Epilepsy Toronto Benefit Stage at Yonge Dundas Square will host non-stop performances from some of the best buskers and street performers from around the world. Every busker will be donating the money from their “hats” to Epilepsy Toronto…don’t forget to fill the hats!
Visitors will be amazed by not only the performances on the main stage, but the streets will be filled with roaming buskers too. Be sure to visit the side stages. Check out the Buskerfest site for a complete of all the performers.
The event runs all weekend long – from noon to 11pm on Friday, 11am to 11pm on Saturday and 11am to 8pm on Sunday. There is no set schedule at BuskerFest…this event is all about spontaneity and having a great time.
